Motherhood

Motherhood is....

~crawling into your daughter's crib when she's upset over a nightmare and waiting for her to fall asleep so you can nibbly climb out of the cage and not set off a loud toy or twist an ankle on the way down.



~spending the morning curled up on the couch from lack of sleep & a cold & letting your daughter rumage through whatever because your too tired and sick to care.



~spending 2 hours on super bowl sunday in urgent care because you think she may have swallowed a penny but your not sure (because you were curled up on the couch), just to have the attending dr. tell you there's nothing they can do unless she has problems breathing.


~smooshing through her poopies to see if she pooped the penny out & to perhaps save it for her scap book that you've yet to put together.

~cleaning poop out of her mouth when she decides to turn her nap time into craft time & then sterilizing her crib & scrubbing the poop out of her sheet & blanket.

~waking up hung-over from robittussin to find that the fridge was left open all night and you have to run out the door at 7:45 in jammies & bedhead to the market for some milk before your daughter gets up & freaks cuz she's super hungy.

~forcing a smile at the store manager when he opens the doors at 8:03 instead of 8 (hello, my daughter's starving and you can't get it together to open on time?!)

~driving 45 minutes to see the opthamologist who tells you that your daughter's cross-eye is because of her bow legs and that I need to see the osteopath several times ($130 a pop!) a month and home therapy to straighten her out.

~letting it all go when she thinks she's calling daddy on the wii remote :)
